Brunswick Inter年龄ncy Program (BIP)

Since 1985, Brunswick Inter年龄ncy Program has served adults diagnosed with intellectual disabilities. The program’s mission is to enable students to reach their full potential, become more independent, and fully participate in their communities. The comprehensive services at BIP include:

Adult Basic Education (ABE):  fosters a strong educational foundation for students that may have struggled during their public school years. ABE courses promote contextualized learning, 资金管理, 技术, 宣传, 职业生涯路径, 探索, 和独立.

Supported Employment/Job Coaching: Students that are ready for employment are offered a variety of opportunities that include on-campus transition crews and independent job placements in the community. All supported employment services are provided through a partnership with the North Carolina Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS), 当地雇主, 以及BIP的职业教练. On-campus employment transition crews include food preparation, 院子里的维护, 保管员的工作, and cable box/cord restoration.

BIP Greenhouse and Gift Shop: Students learn about horticulture and receive an intro to customer service and sales while participating in our greenhouse “Brunswick Blooms”.

Transportation through BTS can be requested and has a monthly flat-rate fee. Families/individuals can also choose to transport their student(s). The program runs Monday through Friday from 8:30-3pm.
